On Tuesday, April 16, I took Patriot from her home port of Port Washington down to Milwaukee to get her bottom paint redone. The plan was to get Patriot down to Milwaukee early, have my friend Charles pick me up at the marina and drop me off near our home so my wife, Christine (Who hates driving in downtown) could pick me up and get me back to Port Washington.

Ah, the best laid plans..... I Left Port Washington around 0500 and ended up in Milwaukee at Beacon Marine, on the Kinnikinnick River around 07:30. When I got there, I talked to the marina manager, Chris and he told me that no one told him we were coming down for a haul out, much less a bottom paint job. Definite bummer. But all worked out and Jonathan from Nice Guys Motor Works got everything straightened out and Patriot got her bottom done.

So, I am back in Port Washington, everything is good, right? Well, then I got this picture from Chris, at the marina. Looks like I am gonna need a new bow thruster propeller. No way to get it in time before we return to Port Washington, so one more project goes on the list before we leave on September 18th.

Friday, August 19th, I picked up Patriot and waves goodbye to Milwaukee. Right now, Patriot is safe and sound in Port Washington and our next trip will be on September 18 when we depart for the loop, so it is time to officially hang our AGLCA burgee.
